Offering a range of evidence based talk therapies and other therapies, from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to trauma, violence, and abuse focused therapy and expressive art therapy among others, our therapists will take ownership of your end-to-end healing journey. Guiding you through the initial consultation, diagnosis, and the creation of a patient-centered treatment plan, we bring a well-trained, experienced, and deeply considerate care giver to you, placing a vast range of resources at your disposal.

  •  Individual therapy
    At Safe Places, we are known for never turning away a person in need. Individualized care plans and tools are employed for individual therapy. Treating individuals with all diagnoses, from anxiety, OCD, and depression
    to schizophrenia, PTSD, and bipolar disorder – and everything in-between – we represent a hub of judgment-free support. It’s what we’re known for, relentless in the belief that everybody deserves treatment and support,
    regardless of complexities, disease, addictions, and the bumps in the road that led them to us.
  •  Group therapy
    We understand that, for many, opening up in front of a group of people isn’t easy. So at Safe Places, we encourage our patients to push through the initial barrier, giving them the opportunity to access enhanced interpersonal skills, increased confidence, and an understanding that, although it may feel like it, they & are not alone. Overseen by one of our friendly in-house facilitators/therapists, group therapy offers a safe space to learn, interact, and connect with individuals who don’t just understand – they’re living through it. By creating a like-minded group and bringing together those who struggle with a similar issues, this therapy option is designed to introduce you to a new support system. Beyond unlocking weekly social interactions, your small group will benefit from sharing coping strategies, offering advice, and empathizing with one another & this concerns.
    Tailoring each session to the group  needs, whether you & are experiencing anxiety about the future, an increase in cravings, or feel the need to strengthen your coping mechanisms, we are led by the group, and the topics they deem crucial—no pressure to open up. Just genuine support, on your terms.
  •  Individual, Couple and Group Counselling
    We don’t see you as a diagnosis. We view our patients as individuals, with wants, goals, preferences, and needs, complete with happy, fulfilled futures in front of them. That’s why, to us, it’s never enough to opt for the one size fits all approach. Instead, we build bespoke treatment plans to fit your most intricate needs, steering clear of advice, and celebrating the power of listening. Often called upon short-term to target specific issues, we are there in the moments that count.
    Delivering hands-on support navigating your most difficult life events, our counselling sessions are designed to help you understand your behaviours, strengthen your self-esteem, and importantly, give you the tools to handle even the most difficult circumstances. Think HIV/aids, marriage, grief, career, infertility, substance abuse, and trauma counselling – all met with the same judgement-free, ethical, compassionate approach. We won’t just hear you – we will genuinely listen. Creating a safe, confidential environment to put you at ease, we will talk through the topics that you bring to the surface, working at a pace you’re comfortable with.                                                                                                                                                                                                     Building positive thought patterns, combatting destructive habits, and exploring the inner-most thoughts that keep you awake at night, we will use talking therapy to remove the weight of your toughest emotions off your shoulders.
  • Family therapy
    Is focused on improving familial interrelations and as a tool in treatment of certain mental health and behavioral issues like Substance Use disorders.
    Addiction is often referred to as a ‘family disease” which affects all members of the family unit while other mental conditions may also drain the care givers/Family members and cause damage that may be repaired through family therapy. We are here to lighten your burdens in the most professional way possible. It is possible to thrive and have a safe space in your family even with some brokenness.
  • Coaching
    The main purpose of coaching is to offer support for personal growth. Individuals with differing needs are supported by professional coaches in areas including Recovery coaching, life coaching, skills coaching,
    and career among others.
